Razorbacks have good beginning
RANSON — The Jefferson County Youth Football League reported the following results from the last two weekends: In three games between the Bears and Spartans, the PeeWee Spartans won, 31-12, the Freshmen Spartans prevailed, 40-0, and the JV Spartans had a 41-13 victory.
The Freshmen Razorbacks stopped the Berkeley Springs Wolves, 20-0, and the JV Razorbacks dropped the Wolves, 46-0.
The PeeWee Hurricanes had a 34-0 shutout win over the Rams, the Freshmen Hurricanes beat the Rams, 34-6 and the JV Rams topped the Hurricanes, 7-6.
In games involving the Eastern Panhandle Rams, it was the Rams stopping the Hurricanes, 35-0, in the PeeWee game, the Freshmen Rams won, 33-0, over the Hurricanes and the Rams edged the Hurricanes, 14-6, in the JV game.
The South Berkeley Chargers got past the Bears, 25-19, in a PeeWee game, the Chargers took a 33-0 decision over the Bears in the Freshmen game and the Chargers blew past the Bears, 52-12, in the JV game.
The Eastern Panhandle Colts defeated the Rams, 14-7, in the PeeWee game, the Colts beat the Rams, 13-0, in the Freshmen game and the Colts got a shutout, 25-0, win over the Rams in the JV game.
In a Freshmen game, it was the Jefferson County Razorbacks winning, 49-6, over the Eastern Panhandle Patriots and the Razorbacks moving to a 27-6 win over the Patriots in the JV game.
The Jefferson County Spartans drilled the Berkeley Springs Wolves, 45-0, in a PeeWee game, the Spartans blanked the Wolves, 27-0, in the Freshmen game and the Spartans had a shutout, 26-0, win over the JV Wolves.
