CHARLES TOWN — A Ranson man has been charged with having one wife too many after police said he married a woman in June without first divorcing his wife of 10 years.
Paul Franklin Donaven, 36, was charged with one count of felony bigamy Friday, according to police.
Donaven is accused of marrying an area woman on June 8. At the time, he was still wedded to a woman he married in Frederick County, Va., in 2002.
He separated from his first wife, but has not yet obtained a divorce from her, police said.
Donaven is facing one to five years in prison on the charge.
He is free on personal recognizance pending trial.
