Sydney Holliday, a recent graduate of Jefferson High School, and the daughter of Shelly and John Holliday of Shepherdstown, and Chelsea Hampton of Washington High School, and the daughter of Joyce and Charles “Chuck” Hampton, were presented their scholarships by Kiwanis Club President Calvin Whittington.

Holliday, who was active in the Key Club in high school, plans to attend Shepherd University where she will study pre-medicine with the goal of becoming a dermatologist.

Hampton served as the president of the Washington High Key Club. She will attend Shepherd University to major in psychology with the goal of becoming a family counselor.

The Paul M. Saab Memorial Kiwanis Scholarship was established in 2001 to honor Paul Saab, a longtime professor of biology at Shepherd and a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Shepherdstown.
