Soccer tryouts: Tryouts for the fall boys soccer team will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Aug. 8 at Terry Marcus Field. Tryouts are mandatory. All players need to provide a current, valid physical form, AD questionnaire and insurance waiver.

Workshop: The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s Dam Safety Program is sponsoring a workshop for dam owners and monitors from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Mountain Lake Club near Charles Town. Seminar: Kingdom Life Cathedral Teaching Ministry presents “Back to School Chat & Chew” starting at 9 a.m. Aug. 10. Children and parents are invited to discuss bullying, child safety, peer pressure, nutrition and more.

 

Welcome service: The Bolivar United Methodist Church will welcome Pastor John Unger II and his wife Cara to the church with a special service and potluck luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 11. The church will furnish the chicken, rolls and beverages. Bring a favorite dish to share.
