A boost for babies

On Saturday, Walters and her colleagues aim to highlight the benefits of breastfeeding as part of the Big Latch On event. All nursing moms and their offspring are invited to gather at the hospital at 300 S. Preston St. in Ranson for the third-annual event, part of World Breastfeeding Week. Similar gatherings Friday and Saturday are expected to draw thousands across the globe. The local Big Latch On begins at 10:30 a.m., but participants are asked to meet in the first-floor conference room at 10 a.m. to get registered and situated.
