A display of local quilters’ work – full-sized quilts, wall hangings and table toppers – continues at South Jefferson Public Library in Summit Point. The exhibit is No. 44 in the “Art in the Library” series designed to highlight talented local artists. The exhibit runs through June 30 at the library at 49 Church St.
Leaders will unveil a new kiosk designed to guide visitors to the hot spots of Harpers Ferry and Bolivar in a 4 p.m. ceremony at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park near the rivers’ confluence. Refreshments will be served afterwards at the Train Station.
Help Harpers Ferry’s VIVO Hair Salon & Day Spa raise money for families hurt by last week’s storms in Oklahoma. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the salon will donate to the American Red Cross 100 percent of proceeds from walk-in clients’ hair services, manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, makeup refreshers, waxing and more. Fifteen percent of proceeds from product sales also will go to the Red Cross. Donations will be accepted and light refreshments served.
