Policy on submitting wedding news

 

The Spirit of Jefferson welcomes readers’ news about engagements, weddings and landmark anniversaries. Read our policy on how to submit your news.

The newspaper will print at no charge wedding articles along with a black-and-white photo of the bride or the couple.

 

Wedding news should be submitted within three months of the ceremony and must be submitted within a year of the event.

 

Information that may be included in the announcement: the bride’s name, where she lives, her parents and their town or towns of residence along with all the same information about the groom; when and where the wedding ceremony was held; the name of the minister or officiant; the names and towns of residence of attendants and ushers; a brief description of the attire worn by the bride, groom and other members of the wedding party and their flowers; the relationship between the attendant and the bride or groom; where out-of-town wedding guests traveled from; details on the reception including where it was held and a brief description of the cake and first dance; the honeymoon location; the city and state where the couple will live; where the bride and groom went to school; where they are employed and any military service.
