Vickers-Group Mary Beth Vickers and Robert Steven Group were married Oct. 12, 2012, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Shepherdstown in a candlelight, double-ring ceremony officated by the Rev. Fred Soltow. The bride wore a strapless satin gown trimmed in brown satin and embellished with rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of roses, calla lilies, orchids and hydrangeas. Maid of honor was Amy Vickers, the bride’s sister. Bridesmaids Tina Bowers, Keri Janszen, Sandi Mohr and Sarah Stare wore sleeveless cognac-orange gowns and carried bouquets of hydrangeas. Flower girl Madison Knavel, the groom’s niece, wore a gown matching the bridesmaids and carried a brown satin basket. The groom wore a brown tuxedo, an ivory shirt, vest and tie, and a soft-green orchid boutonniere. Best man Josh Crunkleton and groomsmen Seth Group, Shane Marville, Shawn Meyers and Larnie Vickers all wore brown tuxedos, ivory shirts, cognac-orange vests and ties, and burnt-orange calla lily boutonnieres. Ring bearer Ty Vickers, the bride’s nephew, wore a tuxedo matching the groomsmens’ and carried an ivory lace ring pillow that belonged to the bride’s parents. Following the ceremony, the couple’s reception at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center included hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dancing and a six-tiered cupcake wedding cake. The bride is the daughter of Lawrence and Debbie Vickers of Kearneysville. The groom is the son of Ryland and Annette Group of Greencastle, Pa. A bridal shower, hosted by the maid of honor and bridesmaids, was held at The Station in Shepherdstown. The groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Yellow Brick Bank in Shepherdstown. Following a honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple resides in Shepherdstown.
