Art in Summit Point
Through this weekend, arresting photographs created by the Jefferson County Photography Club will be on display at the public library in Martinsburg.
The club’s annual exhibition features shots taken in 2012 in far-flung locales such as Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts, Natchez, Miss., even Varanasi, India.
Club members taking part in the exhibit include Lisa Arroniz, Melanie Brownsmith, Sally Fitzgerald, Curt Mason, John Moore, Alice Newton, Dan Smith and Rip Smith.
Affiliated with the Arts and Humanities Alliance of Jefferson County, the club meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Fire House Gallery at 108 N. George St. in Charles Town.
The Martinsburg-Berkley County Public Library is located at 101 W. King St. in downtown Martinsburg. Normal hours are is 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday hours are 1 to 5 p.m. The library’s number is 304-267-8933.

Ushering in ’13
Charles Town’s American Legion Jackson-Perks Post 71 holds a New Year’s Eve Bash that’s open to the public. The event starts at 6 p.m. Monday and the band Don’t Look Back will perform rock ‘n’ roll hits from the ’50s and ’60s from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
