Safe driving: The Jefferson County Council on Aging will host an AARP Safe Driving Course from 8 to 4 p.m. Saturday at 103 W. Fifth Ave. in Ranson. Class will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and one must take all eight hours of the course in order to complete. The price for the class is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. Annual yard sale: The Shenandoah Valley Chorus annual yard sale comes Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon at 500 Lanny Drive in Winchester, Va., just a few blocks from the Winchester Medical Center. The fundraiser is for the women’s a capella chorus, with used clothing, household items, books, antiques and other quality items offered for sale. A handmade quilt also will be raffled.
