Grantham, Collier play in North-South basketball

Two Jefferson County 2012 senior basketball players were on the North squad that dropped a 114-101 verdict to the South team in West Virginia’s annual North-South high school game played in South Charleston.

Jefferson High’s all-time leading scorer, Garrett Grantham, and Washington High’s all-time leading scorer, Tyrek Collier, were the Jefferson County players in this year’s game.

Grantham scored eight points and Collier scored two points. The North roster had Boo Lathon (Wheeling Park), K. D. Arnett (St. Marys), Zack Martin (Ravenswood), Daniel Collie (Parkersburg Catholic), Devin Hoehn (Parkersburg), Clay Rokisky (Weirton Madonna), Justin Wade (John Marshall), Q. J. Peterson (Hedgesville), Robert Smelser (Hampshire), Van Jones (Fairmont Senior), Jordan Lacy (Braxton County), Collier, and Grantham.

Peterson scored 21 points.

The South squad had Tino DiTrapano (George Washington), Thomas Franke (George Washington), Garrett Tinsley (Hurricane), Steve Browning (Logan), Jordan Simpson (Man), Ot Elmore (South Charleston), Josh Pierson (Huntington St. Joseph), Jacob Copley (Tolsia), Mason Pack (Tug Valley ), Cameron Powell (Winfield), Cameron Shannon (Woodrow Wilson), Taylor Smith (Wyoming East), and Marcus Schofield (Wyoming East).
