CHARLESTON (AP) — Public school students in West Virginia are starting to head back to class.
The Charleston Daily Mail reports that the new academic year begins Tuesday in Braxton and Wayne counties. Students in Cabell County return to school on Wednesday. Schools in Mercer County will begin classes on Thursday.
Students in 20 other counties will return to class next week. The following week, classes will begin in 30 counties.
Brooke County students will be the last to return to school. Classes begin Aug. 25.
The West Virginia Department of Education and the West Virginia Board of Education advised motorists on Tuesday to pay attention and to obey school bus signals when students are getting on or off buses.
