West Virginia Blackberry Festival enjoys sweet sales

NUTTER FORT (AP) — Sales have been sweet at the West Virginia Blackberry Festival.

Festival treasurer Twyla Snodgrass tells The Exponent Telegram that festivalgoers bought more than 400 blackberry pies and cobblers, along with 15 dozen blackberry-filled cookies, by Saturday afternoon. That topped sales at previous festivals.

The festival began Thursday and ended Saturday night at Clarksburg City Park in Nutter Fort.
