MOUNDSVILLE (AP) — A Marshall County teacher faces more charges following his guilty plea to misdemeanor battery.
Media outlets report that John Marshall High School social studies teacher David Duane Will Jr. is charged with five misdemeanor counts of possession of child erotica. Sheriff’s deputies arrested Will on Tuesday afternoon after he pleaded guilty to the battery charge.
The new charges stem from the investigation of the battery complaint.
Will was accused of trying to kiss a female student when she went to his classroom on April 9 to take photos for the school’s yearbook. During the investigation, the sheriff’s department confiscated Will’s computer and searched his social media account.
Marshall County Schools Superintendent Michael Hince tells media outlets that Will remains on unpaid leave pending the investigation.
