CHARLES TOWN — Motorists can expect delays in traffic during this weekend’s African American Heritage Day Parade, according to the Charles Town Police Department.
The parade, which will begin at about 11 a.m. Saturday, will start at around Third Avenue in Ranson and follow George Street into Charles Town, until Washington Street. It will continue down West Washington Street before turning onto South Lawrence Street. The procession will conclude on West Congress Street in front of Wright Denny Intermediate School. It will conclude about 2 p.m.
Detours will be in place under police direction throughout the march. Motorists are urged to use an alternate route to avoid the downtown during the march.
