Kiwanis scholarship awarded to Charles Town’s Rachel Adams

SHEPHERDSTOWN – Rachel Adams has been awarded the 2014 Paul M. Saab Memorial Kiwanis Scholarship from the Kiwanis Club of Shepherdstown.

Adams, a graduate of Jefferson High School, is the daughter of Charles and Renee Adams of Charles Town.

She plans to attend Shepherd University to study family and consumer sciences, working toward a career in fashion merchandizing.

At Jefferson, she was an active member of the Key Club and marching band. She also served as Key Club lieutenant governor for the Eastern Panhandle for the 2013-14 school year.

The scholarship was established in 2001 to honor Paul Saab, a longtime professor of biology at Shepherd and a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Shepherdstown.

Adams recently accepted her scholarship check from Bernard Wayne Knott, president of the Kiwanis Club of Shepherdstown.
