Something to smile about

Orthodontist says Charles Town practice delivers latest, best care – and fun, too

CHARLES TOWN – Dr. Rajia Sebbahi knows first-hand the importance of a beautiful, healthy smile.

Growing up in Morocco, she had “crooked teeth that were sticking out enough that I couldn’t close my lips no matter how hard I tried,” she explains. “There were no orthodontists where I lived back then. Although my parents and I were aware of the problem, they did not know what to do about it.”

The problem affected her self-esteem, Sebbahi remembers, but also led her to focus on orthodontics once she enrolled in dental school. “I saw the opportunity to help transform the smiles and confidence of so many patients,” she said.

Dr. Rajia Sebbahi leads RS Orthodontics, where staff members include Anna Acly, Barb Sencindiver, Lisa Ring, Amy Keesey and Christine Shaffer. “We are blessed with wonderful patients and families who appreciate the work we do for them,” Sebbahi explains. “Orthodontic treatment lasts for couple years so we get to know our patients and they become family. We run contests, sponsor events and keep it fun in the office.”

Today, her practice RS Orthodontics – with locations on Lutz Avenue in Martinsburg as well as Dr. Ray Vanderhook’s former office at Trifecta Place in Charles Town – is focused on providing patients of all ages the best possible orthodontic care, she said.

“We strive to provide a setting where our patients and their families can develop a bond with the RS Ortho team,” she said. “Knowing that their needs are of supreme importance to us. Our purpose is not only to straighten teeth, but set the foundation for a lifetime of healthy beautiful smiles.”

Earlier this summer, Sebbahi held a patient appreciation day at the Jaydee’s Family Fun Center in Inwood where each patient and a friend enjoyed a free outing at the water park.

Sebbahi, a graduate of Tufts University and West Virginia University School of Dentistry, also stay focused on all the latest innovations in orthodontic care, she said. “I drive to Morgantown a couple of times a month to teach the next orthodontists,” she said.

She’s also the area’s only preferred Invisalign orthodontist as well as the sole certified Incognito braces provider.
