Gov. Tomblin names school building authority director

CHARLESTON (AP) — A 22-year veteran of the West Virginia School Building Authority who left in 2012 is returning as its executive director.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin announced David Sneed’s appointment Monday. Sneed was chief of architectural services for the authority from 1990 until 2012, when he left for a private sector job. Before joining the authority, Sneed was director of school planning for Kanawha County Schools.

Sneed replaces Mark Manchin, who resigned as executive director to become superintendent of Harrison County Schools.
