Flags lowered in honor of late Sen. Bob Holliday

CHARLESTON (AP) — West Virginia flags at the Capitol Complex and at state facilities in Fayette County are being displayed at half-staff in honor of a former lawmaker who died in February.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has ordered flags lowered from dawn until dusk Friday, the day of memorial services for former state Sen. Robert K. Holliday.

Holliday served three terms in the West Virginia House of Delegates before being elected five times to the state Senate. He was the longtime publisher of The Fayette Tribune, The Montgomery Herald and The Meadow River Post newspapers.
