With children out of school for another snow day, the annual Shrove Tuesday pancake fundraiser at Citizens Fire Co. in Charles Town was busier than ever. It’s the 55th year the all-volunteer fire company has held the all-day extravaganza. Volunteers served up pancakes, sausage gravy, eggs, syrup and other toppings (including the muchloved apple butter made by the Shepherdstown Fire Department) from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
