SUNDIAL (AP) — A section of W.Va. Route 3 in Raleigh County that’s been closed for more than a month because of a rock slide could reopen soon.
State Department of Transportation spokeswoman Carrie Bly says a contractor expected to complete cleanup and stabilization work over the weekend.
Bly says the Division of Highways expects to reopen the road near Sundial, with restrictions, by the end of this week.
She says the DOH will make temporary repairs and replace guardrail. Permanent repairs will be made in the spring.
The road has been closed since three large boulders and debris fell from a hillside on Dec. 27.
