Students putting history lessons to test

CHARLESTON (AP) — Eighth-grade students will put their history studies to the test at a competition in Charleston.

The regional competition in the West Virginia State History Bowl tournament is scheduled for Friday. Students from eight schools are competing.

The competition will test their knowledge of West Virginia culture, government, literature, history, geography, and even sports. The winning team and the runner-up will have the opportunity to compete at the state tournament in April, also in Charleston.

The regional and state tournaments are being held at the Culture Center.
