Saying farewell to the DuBoses

Dozens of friends gathered Sunday at Camp Hill Wesley United Methodist Church in Harpers Ferry to bid goodbye two beloved community members – the Rev. Georgia DuBose and her husband Bob DuBose. Shirley Caniford organized the party for the DuBoses, who have been fixtures in the community for 15 years. Georgia is the minister at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Harpers Ferry and St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Leetown. Her last Sunday at the churches is this week. Her husband is a former Harpers Ferry Town Council member who has been active with Jefferson County Community Ministries and other good works. The DuBoses are headed west to be closer to family. Starting in March, she will serve as vicar at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Florence, Ore.
