Dan and Jeannine Mankins celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 25. The couple, who married in Oakland, Md., in 1964, are natives of Tunnelton who now live in Grafton.
He started his career in Shepherdstown, where he worked as a teacher and principal at Shepherdstown Elementary School. He retired in 1999 as principal of Anna Jarvis Elementary School in Grafton. She retired as a school health nurse after working in Jefferson and Taylor counties.
The Mankins have three sons, Doug Mankins of Martinsburg, Scott Mankins of Winchester, Va., and Brad Mankins of Fayetteville. They have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
An open-house celebration happens from 2 to 4 p.m. March 8 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3025 Lucas Dairy Road, in Grafton.[/cleeng_content]
