CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — More than three dozen organizations pressing for transportation improvements in West Virginia will rally at the state Capitol next week.
West Virginians for Better Transportation will be joined by 37 other groups for the 2014 “Transportation Day” on Jan. 9.
This is the third year West Virginians for Better Transportation has organized the rally. Organization chairman Carol Fulks says that with a report coming soon from the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Highway Commission, the timing of this year’s event couldn’t be any better.
Fulks says good jobs and economic development are at risk if nothing is done to address the state’s transportation needs.
