SHEPHERDSTOWN – The Potomac Valley Audubon Society is sponsoring a pair of free birding trips this month.
First up is a day-long trek to Grand and Hardy counties. Local expert Matt Orsie will lead the Jan. 12 trip.
Participants must pre-register to Orsie at email@example.com. They’ll meet at 8 a.m. in the parking lot at Martin’s off U.S. 340 in Charles Town.
Another trip, beginning at Martin’s at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 15., will focus on waterfowl wintering over in the area. Participants, including children and those without any prior birding experience, will drive to various ponds and riverfront sites. To sign up, go to potomacaudubon.org.
