6 fires in Morgantown after WVU-Texas game

MORGANTOWN (AP) — Morgantown fire officials are investigating six fires that occurred after West Virginia’s 47-40 overtime loss to Texas.

The Morgantown Fire Department tells media outlets that the Saturday night incidents included two dumpster fires, two street fires, a couch and a portable toilet.

In one incident, 18-year-old Jacob William Pato of Washington, Pa., was cited for malicious burning.

In 2012, about 40 street and trash container fires were set after the WVU-Texas game. The Mountaineers won that game, 48-45.
