LOST CREEK (AP) — Services will be held Sunday for a South Harrison High School football player who collapsed at a game last month.
The funeral for 17-year-old Dylan Jeffries will take place at the school’s football field in Lost Creek. In case of rain, services will be held in the school’s gymnasium.
“The family wanted to afford the community the opportunity to pay their final respect to their son,” said Harrison County schools Superintendent Susan Collins.
Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Home in Clarksburg on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A private burial will be held Monday.
Media outlets report Jeffries had been placed in a medically induced coma at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after undergoing surgery to have a blood clot removed from his brain. The running back collapsed on the sidelines during a Sept. 27 game against Lincoln.
