Middleway Day: Plans are underway for Middleway Day, the annual street festival/village homecoming set for Oct. 12. The Middleway Conservancy Association is looking for farmers and other food producers as well as crafters to be part of the daylong event, which typically draws a crowd of 1,000 to 1,500 along East Street in the historic town. Blood drive: Snyder Environmental Services hosts a blood drive in memory of Cynthia Snyder from noon to 6 p.m. Friday at the business at 270 Industrial Blvd. in Kearneysville. Snyder was 58 when she died in 2011 of a rare bone marrow disease that required monthly blood transfusions for much of her life. Build a rain garden: The Town of Bolivar hosts a rain garden workshop 10 a.m. On Oct. 5 in the pavilion of the Bolivar Community Children’s Park for anyone to construct on their own property.
