Namolik signs six recruits at Shepherd

SHEPHERDSTOWN — Shepherd men’s basketball coach Justin Namolik has announced the signing of six players for the 2013-14 season.

Forward Wade Walker is a 6-foot-5 forward who averaged 17.9 points at Shade High in Pennsylvania. Walker had 13 rebounds a game. Naim Muhammad is a 6-foot-4 guard from North Point High in Waldorf, Md. He scored 15 points a game on a team that was 24-2 last season. Garett Burkhead is a 6-foot-3 guard from Patterson Mill High in Maryland. He scored 17.8 points last season and finished with 1,249 career points.

Mike Reed is 6-foot-4 with a 13 point and seven rebound average in his senior year at Patterson Mill High. Seth Myers played at Linganore High in Maryland and is a 6-foot-5 forward. He scored 17 points and averaged seven rebounds a game for the Lancers. Mitchell Koch comes from Preston High in Kingwood. The 6-foot-3 guard scored more than 14 points and had seven rebounds a game for the Knights.

Shepherd will be playing in its first season in the Mountain East Conference this season.
