Assistant Principal Jennifer Moss came up with the idea of an extended orientation to help sixth-graders adapt to middle school and asked the county for federal money to put on the academy. Activities included a scavenger hunt to help students learn their way around the new school and time to practice opening their lockers. Another incentive to come to school before Aug. 22? Each student who completes all three days will take home a Wildwood Middle School book bag filled with notebooks and other school supplies.
