Chiropractic, massage, reflexology among offerings in Kearneysville
KEARNEYSVILLE — Herb Clark strives for balance.
At Oasis Health and Wellness, licensed acupuncturist, Reiki master and teacher Clark offers patients treatment for what ails them. And what ails them can range from worries about time and money, work, deadlines, injury from accidents or just poor posture.
No matter what its source, Clark said continual stress takes its toll on a body.
Clark, who also practices crystal chakra therapy, said the secret to wellness is locked up in Chinese medicine’s five-element theory.
The Chinese concept of Wei Qi (pronounced “way chee”) serves to protect and defend the body. It is important to have the correct supply of Wei Qi to remain healthy. If not the body is more vulnerable to imbalance, he said.
Acupuncture helps to balance the quality of “vital energy” in a person. “Needles bring awareness, but they can’t change the person’s perspective of health and wellness,” Clark said.
The needles act as a guide for the Qi (pronounced chee) in the body, advising it where it needs to go. Once the body starts to naturally realign into its true state, mental clarity quickly regains balance and patients notice changes.
A typical treatment is known to be very relaxing, virtually effortless and less painful then plucking out a hair. Usually one treatment lasts no longer than 30 minutes.
Clark said regular treatments are recommended.
“One goal would be to see the patient at least once a month” he said. ”I love to see patients after a session, they are usually more relaxed then when they walked in.”
In addition to acupuncture, Oasis also offers chiropractic adjustments from Dr. Jason Winseck, as well as infrared therapy, Ionic footbaths, nutritional counseling, body wraps and facials.
