The West Virginia Division of Highways wishes to alert the public about an upcoming change in the traffic pattern at the intersection of South George Street (W.Va. 115) and Citizens Way (County Route 115/4) in Charles Town. Stop signs will be added on South George Street to make the intersection an all-way stop. Work is currently scheduled for July 10, weather permitting.
At all-way stop intersections, stop signs are placed at each road approaching the intersection, requiring all drivers to stop before proceeding through the intersection. All-way stops are also commonly referred to as four-way or three-way stops.
This traffic pattern change is the result of a traffic study to improve the safety of the intersection.
