Red Cross worker Donna Weller draws blood from Nancy Cummins of Bakerton during the Red Cross’s In Memory Of Blood Drive for James Blackwell “Blackie” Davis Saturday at Zion Episcopal Church in Charles Town. The effort collected blood from 86 donors. Davis, a longtime Jefferson County resident worked as a trust officer at Blakeley Bank, died in October 2010 from Myelodysplasia, a type of blood cancer that interferes with the bone marrow’s ability to produce red blood cells.
