Harrison Musgrave, a West Virginia University redshirt sophomore left-handed pitcher, has been selected to the Louisville Slugger NCAA All-America second-team baseball squad. The Collegiate Baseball newspaper made the selections. Musgrave had Tommy John surgery in 2012 and missed last year. The Bridgeport native had a 9-1 record and a 2.17 ERA this past season as the Mountaineers finished in third place in the Big 12 Conference regular season standings. Musgrave fanned 81 in his 95.1 innings of work.
Pitchers Aaron Nola (LSU), Kent Emmanuel (North Carolina), Thomas Eshelman (Cal State Fullerton), Kerry Doane (East Tennessee State), Jonathan Holder (Mississippi State) and David Berg (UCLA) were the first-team All-America selections. Holder and Berg were selected as relief pitchers.
Collegiate Baseball placed 14 pitchers on its second-team All-America squad. San Diego third baseman Kris Bryant was selected as the National Player of the Year. Bryant clubbed 31 home runs and led the nation in eight different offensive categories this year.
