Point guard becomes WVU’s seventh recruit

MORGANTOWN — Although he has yet to qualify academically to play in the 2013-14 college basketball season, point guard Daxter Miles has committed to play for West Virginia University.

Miles becomes Coach Bob Huggins’ seventh recuit for next season. The 6-foot-3 guard averged 19 points for Dunbar High in Baltimore this past season where the Poets won a fourth straight Class A state championship.

Miles attended Archbishop Curley High in Baltimore as a freshman and sophomore and then transferred to a private school in Bradenton, Fla. for his junior year. He then transferred to Dunbar for his last year in high school.

Miles’ last national standardized test score has yet to be revealed. He would also have to be validated by the NCAA Clearinghouse to be eligible for the 2013-14 season.
