CHARLES TOWN – The Blue Ridge Watershed Coalition of Harpers Ferry is now accepting applications for a program that will offer septic pumping assistance to residents of the Blue Ridge in Jefferson County.
Qualifying homeowners are eligible for a onetime $150 reimbursement to assist in covering the cost of septic tank pumping.
Funds are available to the first 33 homeowners to return applications beginning this week.
Applications can be obtained by contacting Ronda Lehman, chairwoman of the BRWC, at 304-261-8070.
Recipients of the reimbursement will be chosen on a first come, first serve basis.
“Regular pumping and maintenance of septic tanks save homeowners money and protect the environment,” Lehman said in a press release. “Septic pumping improves groundwater, and surface water quality of our county and the Chesapeake Bay downstream.”
