SHENANDOAH JUNCTION — With Devyn Hosby visiting the winners circle three times, Washington High was able to claim the girls Potomac Valley Conference track and field meet championship by a comfortable margin over runner-up Jefferson.
The Patriots had 167 points and the Lady Cougars finished with 123 points. The other three schools entered were Hedgesville, Musselman and Martinsburg.
Hosby had wins in the 100 (12.39), 200 (26.08) and 400 (59.13).
The Patriots had individual wins from Rhonda Rogombe in the high jump (5-foot-6 inches), Caysie Irving in the pole vault (11-feet), Ashley Warner in the 300 hurdles (50.93) and Destiny Harrison in the 800 (2:29.65).
The winning Patriot 4×400 relay team was clocked in 4:16.92 and had Rachel Krowpman, Christina Rogombe, Hosby and Rhonda Rogombe as its runners.
Getting various seconds in individual events for the Patriots were Rhonda Rogombe (200 and 400), Catrina Russell (3200), Mya Linden (300 hurdles), Sara Pifer (pole vault) and Harrison (1600).
Finishing third were Christina Rogombe (400), Faith Stone (3200) and Talia Wilt (300 hurdles).
Jefferson had an individual winner in Abby Colbert (who was first in the 1600 with her time of 5:26.33 and also first in the 3200 with her time of 11:17.26). The Lady Cougar 4×200 relay team had a win in a time of 1:47.68 with Alanna Baylor, Desiree McCarroll, Alexus Hockman and Selenia Renteria.
Securing seconds for Jefferson were Kenya Price (high jump), the 4×100 relay, the 4×400 relay, the 4×800 relay and the shuttle hurdles relay.
Finishing in third place were Baylor (100), Anya Wallace (800), Emma Albright (shot put), Elizabeth Starliper (long jump) and Ahry Green (high jump).
