City leaders have formally issued proclamations naming next week “Paint the Town Purple Week” in both Ranson and Charles Town. The designations note that “Paint” activities starting Monday and running through June 8 will promote the American Cancer Society’s efforts to raise money to fight the disease and also to raise awareness about the search for a cure. Organizers say there’s still time to get involved in Jefferson County’s annual Relay For Life fundraiser, which begins June 22 at Charles Town Middle School.
