Washington defeated visiting St. Maria Goretti, 7-0, in a girls tennis match where Jill Spuria posted an 8-3 win over Laura Winalski, Mackenzie Littleton defeated Lauren Clopper, 8-1; Amber Barr had an 8-1 win over Monica Divinagracia and Dori Sanders got past Kristin Downing, 8-5, in the four singles matches.
The Patriot doubles teams of Spuria/Barr (8-3 winners) and Littleton/Sanders (8-1 winners) won matches that were played and Washington was awarded a forfeit win in No. 3 doubles.
Washington beat county rival Jefferson, 7-0, with Spuria winning, 8-1, over Shelby Stanton at No. 1; Littleton stopping Bailey Johnson, 8-2, at No. 2; Barr defeating Susanne Lindsey, 8-1 at No. 3 and Sanders taking an 8-1 decision over McLain Lewis.
Doubles competition also favored the Patriots when Spuria/Barr won, 8-1, against Stanton/Lindsey, Littleton/Sanders dispatched Johnson/Lewis, 8-0 and Jessica Barr/Molly Banfield edged Emily Gilbert/Hunter Roll, 8-5.
Over the weekend, Washington participated in the Handley (Va.) Invitational and split two matches, beating Spotsylvania, 5-4, and falling to Western Albermarle, 7-2.
Littleton and Barr won singles matches vs. Spotsylvania aqnd Spuria/Barr, Littleton/Sanders and Jessica Barr/Banfield posted doubles wins.
Against Western Albermarle only Littleton/Sanders and Jessica Barr/Banfield won doubles matches.
