Books take a twist when 14 students from Charles Town Middle School debut their art exhibit, “A New Way to Experience the Book: Recycle, Reuse, Repurpose,” and attend a public reception that starts at 7 p.m. at the Charles Town Library at 200 E. Washington St. Visiting artist Elizabeth Goins challenged Robert Linde’s fifth period art class to reinvent the book as an art form.
The project won funding from the Arts and Humanities Alliance of Jefferson County, the West Virginia Division of Culture and History and the West Virginia Commission on the Arts. For details, call the Charles Town Library at 304-725-2208.
As part of the Jefferson County NAACP’s Spring Community Health Series, Dr. Paul Kradel presents information on prostate cancer at 7 p.m. at Fisherman Hall at the corner of South West and Academy streets in Charles Town.
