A new storytime designed for children from infancy through Grade 2 begins this week at the Charles Town Library at 200 E. Washington St. Longtime volunteer Mercedez Speight, a Jefferson High senior, leads the free read-aloud session that starts at 4 p.m.



Jefferson County Board of Education holds its next regular meeting at 7 p.m. at the board office, 110 Mordington Ave. in Charles Town. The board’s agenda includes finalizing the last day of school for the 2012-13 school year; a vote on a contract with Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates Inc. for engineering services at the county’s proposed new school bus garage site; and a presentation on the annual Black History Essay Contest.
