Heroes of history

Delegate Stephen Skinner and first lady Joanne Tomblin  were among those honoring Harpers Ferry residents Dorrene  Hale and Donald Hale at the West Virginia Culture and History Center as 2013 “History Heroes.” The Hales were nominated by the General Adam Stephen Chapter, National Society Sons of the American Revolution and Pack Horse Ford Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution for their work in the publication of a guide to Elmwood Cemetery in Shepherdstown. The award is presented to individuals who are involved in local history, genealogy, preservation and museum organizations.
