Football camp: Jefferson County Parks and Recreation is offering a non-contact football camp at Sam Michael’s Park starting at 1 p.m. every Sunday through May 19, with open dates on March 31 and May 12. The camp will cost $35. Register online at or call 304-728-3207 for more information.

Calling all poets: The Potomac Valley Audubon Society will showcase the art of local poets as part of the April 6 Wildflower Festival at the Yankauer Nature Preserve. Nominate a senior citizen: Nominations will be accepted from Feb. 1 through March 31 for the Salute to Senior Service program, which honors the contributions of adults 65 and older who give at least 15 hours a month of volunteer service to their favorite causes. Calling all campers: The Audubon Discovery Camp is now registering campers for its 2013 summer season. This year’s camp will be from May 28 to July 19. Fees range from $50 to $200 per week.
