SHENANDOAH JUNCTION — When Jefferson missed its first 15 field goal attempts, its chances of tripping Musselman were ready to evaporate.
The Lady Cougars finally got a shot to drop. But by that time the Lady Applemen had a 14-point lead after the first quarter.
With that first-quarter cushion, the Lady Applemen went on to deal Jefferson a 65-38 loss and leave the Lady Cougars with a 2-16 overall record and still without a win in Sectional games.
Jefferson turnovers combined with Musselman’s vast rebounding superiority spelled doom for the Lady Cougars.
The victory ended a three-game losing skid for the Lady Applemen.
Musselman was 7-10 with its win.
