Jefferson girls are eliminated
INWOOD — After leading by five points against Musselman at halftime, the Jefferson girls were outgunned by 18 points in the second half of their Class AAA, Region II, Section 1 postseason tournament game. The, 59-46, tourney loss ended Jefferson’s season with a 3-20 overall record. Musselman (9-14 overall) advanced to play Hedgesville in the tourney semifinals.
Marissa Jones kept Jefferson competitive with 20 first-half points. Jones finished with 28 points.
Once the Lady Applemen took the lead, they were never caught again as Kyra Burnett scored 18 points.
