Sports registration: Registration for spring baseball and softball season will be held at Charles Town Middle School Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Feb. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fees are $120 for the first child and $110 for each additional child. Publishing class: Local author Bob O’Connor will teach a 10-week class, “Publishing 101,” starting March 5 at Charles Town Middle School. The class will cover such topics as how to find a publisher, how to decide whether to publish a print book or an e-book and how to market yourself and your book once it is published. Birding 101: The Potomac Valley Audubon Society is accepting applications for a course for beginning birders. The evening classroom sessions start April 4 and will continue April 11, 18 and 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Conservation Training Center north of Shepherdstown.
