MARTINSBURG — U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II announced that William Lawrence, 64, of Shepherdstown, has entered a plea of guilty to Sale of a Firearm to a Prohibited Person. On July 1, 2012, Lawrence sold a pistol and magazine to an individual knowing that the individual had been convicted of a felony offense and was prohibited from possessing a firearm, according to the court.
Lawrence, who is free on bond pending sentencing, faces up to 10 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.
Lawrence is the father of 65th District Delegate Tiffany Lawrence, a Democrat.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jarod Douglas.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
