Patriots use second quarter to quiet Lady Bulldogs, 41-31
When homestanding Washington kept Martinsburg from accomplishing anything in the second quarter of the teams’ girls basketball game, the Patriots were well on their way to a 41-31 win over the Lady Bulldogs.
The game was one of marked differences and form reversals.Martinsburg led, 10-6, after one quarter. But Washington outscored the Lady Bulldogs, 20-2, in an overpowering second quarter display to lead, 26-12, at the half.
But then the Patriots could manage only two points themselves in the third quarter while Martinsburg scored 10 points to trail, 28-22.
After getting another 13 points in the last quarter, Washington had its fifth win of the season against four losses.
Jackie Hess scored a team-high 15 points for Washington. Morgan Adams had eight points, Alycia Lambert added seven points, and Kenya Dozier scored six points.
