SHENANDOAH JUNCTION — For the second time this season, the Martinsburg girls basketball team had enough weapons to defeat Jefferson.
On Wednesday of last week, the Lady Bulldogs led by as many as 18 points before settling for a 60-46 win over Jefferson on the Lady Cougars’ home court.
After beating the Lady Cougars by 31 points at home, Martinsburg was able to open with a 12-2 first-quarter lead before Jefferson recovered sufficiently to pare away some of its deficit.
The Martinsburg lead was extended to 18 points before Jefferson managed to get back within 10 points by the close of the third quarter.
Kiana Bullett scored 18 points and Ally Fossett added 17 points for the Lady Bulldogs. Alexus Bonner posted another 14 points.
Dasia Taylor had 10 points for the Lady Cougars with Marisa Jones totaling nine points.
Martinsburg’s record was 7-4 and Jefferson’s record was 1-13.
